Established in 1991, the Departmentof Encephalopathy is one of the hospital's longstanding clinicaldepartments with a distinguished history of service and innovation.

Leadership

Professor GuoZhouke served as the founding director,making exceptional contributions to the department's establishment and earlydevelopment. Since 2021, Professor Qin Xiude has led the department as bothacademic director and administrative director, guiding its continued growth andmodernization.

Clinical Scope &Research Focus

The department specializes in the integrated TCM-Westernmedicine diagnosis, treatment, research, and education of neuropsychiatric andneurological disorders. Clinical expertise encompasses cerebrovascular disease,dementia, Parkinson's disease, myasthenia gravis, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis,depression, anxiety disorders, and sleep disorders.

Current Operations

Facilities& Capacity The departmentoperates twoinpatient wards with 73 beds, supported by dedicated diagnosticfacilities including an EEG laboratory and a transcranial Doppler (TCD) laboratory.Five specialized outpatient clinics focus on cerebrovascular disease, cognitiveimpairment, and psychosomatic medicine.
