Founded in 1982, the Department of Anorectal Surgery is the firstanorectal specialty ever established in Shenzhen.

3. Leadership
The department has been led by a succession of renowned professors—ShiZhaoqi, Li Guodong, Hu Bohu, Du Keyi, Li Haozeng, and Wei Zhijun—whose stewardship laid the foundation for its growth. Professor ZhaoXiangdong has served as department head since 2020.
